Summer Internship

So...it's official. I have an internship for the summer. I flew out to Denver at the beginning of January for a final interview with Western Union, and I got a great offer about 2 weeks ago. I accepted it and am headed to Denver for the summer! I will be working in the global talent management division. It is the only company that came to campus that offers interns a chance to learn more about international business. I'm really excited about this internship. It is the only one that I really wanted, so it's the only one that I actually pursued. Lucky for me, I got it! I'll be there from the end of May to August. My friend Michelle interned there last summer and loved her experience. I've never really spent time in Denver, but it should be an adventure. Come visit if you're in town! :)

What's been up?

Well, this semester I have been consumed by schoolwork from Monday to Thursday and then just relieved to take a nap on Thursdays to catch up on some rest. I would have to say that last semester seemed to be much easier to me than this semester. It is more difficult mainly because of how many HUGE projects I am working on and the fact that instead of one team to coordinate with, there are 4. BUT, I am really enjoying my classes. I spent last week in California and loved the change of pace. On the way home on Sunday, there were randomly 4 other MBAs on my flight. It was a little strange at first to see everyone in the Oakland airport, then I realized that most of them had come out for the Tech Trek that week, but none of them had planned to be on the same flight home. Kind of ironic. Well, I am going to bed so that I can wake up at 4 AM and finish my strategy and accounting hw. I have figured out that I was not meant to be an accountant. I just keep telling myself that learning this stuff will be beneficial.....BUT I still really dislike it! I came across this photo today as I was looking on my computer. It is my whole MBA class in the Tanner Bldg. atrium on our first day of orientation. Maybe we should play Where's Waldo.... Can you find me????
